This course trains participants to:
- promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies
- give high-quality chest compression for adults, children, & infants
- recognize the need for early use of an AED and how to properly administer shocks
- rescue breathing techniques in adults and pediatrics
- importance and effectiveness of team members during multi-rescuer CPR
- relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants

Basic Life Support Instructor Course
As an AHA BLS Instructor, you will be able to teach:
- BLS Provider
- Heartsaver CPR/AED
- Heartsaver First Aid CPR/AED
- Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR/AED
- Heartsaver First Aid Only
- Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens
You will also be able to:
- teach at your place of employment or conduct your own classes
- issue certifcation cards to students
- post your classes on the AHA class locator
- teach courses anywhere in the US
In order obtain this certification, you must:
- have a current BLS Provider Card
- complete the BLS Instructor Essentials online modules
- attend the 4 hours classroom instruction portion of course
- receive your initital class monitoring session with 6 months of certification

- Students must have a NON-expired ACLS certification card for the Renewal Class
